5 galleriesThe Grateful Dead live at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, October 1980. I have four dates on film in this collection: 25, 26, 29 & 30 of October. These are culled from a variety of 35mm film captures in both negative and slide materials. Primary aim of this work is to capture the lighting looks for Candace Brightman, the Grateful Dead's long time Lighting Designer.

7 imagesThe beginnings of a gallery for these two March 1981 Grateful Dead Concerts at the Stanley Theater Pittsburgh PA. So far here are two shots taken outside the Stanley Theater before the Saturday nights show. The five tighter images are slices of the two full frame slides showing in the best detail these slides provide the sidewalk area to better reveal who's hanging out.

10 imagesSaratoga Performing Arts Center parking lot. Found a few Kodachrome slides of folks having fun. SPAC parking lot before the show, the gang from Hamden and the bus that got us there. Sorry folks, no photos of the band playing, they didn't allow cameras inside at the date and I didn't have credentials.

8 imagesI just added two more shots to the Scenes from the Grateful Dead Concert at The Saratoga Performing Arts Center, SPAC, on 24 June 1984. The original 6 inside the venue were chosen from the one roll of high speed color negative film. The new two are slides I found, all by themselves in a file sleeve. There are probably more of the crowd in the archives. When found I'll post anything new. The one shot that makes this show gallery unique to me is the rare photo of Jerry and Phil singing together into a single mic. Only other time I can remember something like this was with Bobby, Jerry and Donna signing into one mic in Blacksburg VA April 1978. Shot on Kodak CF135-36 film stock. The film was pretty grainy though I determined it to be the best hand held camera concert color emulsion based on sharpness, speed and dynamic range available at the time.

5 imagesBefore the show begins. The Grateful Dead live in Concert at Syracuse University Carrier Dome, 20 October 1984. Wide angle view from the rear of the venue detailing the interior of the dome, and stage, set, lighting rig design. There are performance images of this show. One 36 exposure roll of Kodak CM 135 color negative film was exposed. Image #/Song Being Played records are on hand.

17 imagesThe Grateful Dead performing their Legendary New Year Eve Concert Runs. 28 to 31 December 1984. Show were held at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium, now known as the Bill Graham Auditorium in the heart of San Francisco. There were 3 nights in this run, with no show the 30th. For some odd, but understandable, reason they did not do a show that night. Can't remember, kind of a haze over this one. Anyone know more, or have better info, please let me know Enjoy the Photos !! For now these are not signed limited prints (unless you want one!), but lower cost lab prints.

46 imagesDeadheads and fans having a grateful weekend at Oxford Speedway, Oxford Maine, July 2nd & 3rd 1988. Scenes of the camping area, bazaar, and general views of the crowd having a blast. All shot on Kodachrome 64 film and presented un-cropped, au natural to slightly outside the original Kodak processing cardboard slide mounts. I didn't fight my way up close to shoot the band at this venue. Having too much fun :)

38 imagesThe Grateful Dead play Foxboro (or Sullivan) Stadium in Foxborough MA on July 2, 1989. This is my complete selection of photographs culled from three rolls of film. I always make sure with all images that show the audience in my photos shows everyone, no cropping. Please don't ask if I have any more photos. It took two long days putting this gallery together. This are the best and only photos that came out to my liking. I was never able to get close to the stage but all my audience and 'before the show' photos are here.

60 imagesFormerly Known As "The Warlocks". Having been banned by the town fathers of Hampton VA due to previous fan mischief, The Grateful Dead breeze into town under the guise of their original name, a la Magoo's Pizza Parlor era. Scheduled for the 8th and 9th of October 1989, I shot down to Hampton with my old friend Glenn Lally for a good ol' time on the Atlantic shore and some important photographic activity. The First Eleven Images in this gallery are the very same photographs packaged in the Rhino Records/GD Boxed Set release of these shows. This gallery is my personal selection of the best photographs, more of the second show than the first night, captured for GD's illustrious LD Candace Brightman. Images destined to become part of the 'permanent record' of Candace's amazing lighting creations. All selections are finally finished. The long editing and image processing experience (about a week and a half, accumulated over months, including all new scans) is finally done, for you, my fellow fans.
